Graduate Profiles
My name is Muhammad Kamran Khan and I'm from Pakistan.
After I finished by Bachelors in Computer Science BCS (Hons), I was interested to pursue my studies further in the field of computer science and Information Technology. One day I was searching the official website of Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) and I found the links for the (M.Sc) Information Technology. Though I have search some other programs in the list but the best thing for which I have chosen this program was that it is a distributed programme carried out by three different countries Germany, Sweden and Denmark. Now it is extended for four countries which I think is a great achievement for all the institutions involved .
Due to its distributed nature of this Master program, it attracted my attention as I was not only interested in getting my Masters education but also to study, live and work in different countries.
I got admission to this programme in M.Sc (in Information Technology) in 2005. When I arrived first to Halmstad Sweden, it was really a pleasant environment I was picked up by the International Student Union officer. They guided all the way from my hostel to my University. As I came out first time from my home country, it was really difficult to absorb the environment at once. Then slowly and steadily I came to know about different things and made some friends from different countries. I spent my first semester in Sweden with great fun and also studied in a very good way.
Then for my second semester I came to Germany. I heard the name of this country but when I arrived to Germany through EuroBus, my first departure was in Hanover. I was very happy to see such an enthusiastic environment with people all around and speaking German language. When I reached the University all the teacher and the staff specially the International Student Office was really cooperative in every sense. They felt me just like I am not away from my home. The semester which I spent in Germany was the most important one as I was interested in Networks and Distributed Communications. So we have studied all the subjects with practicles under the supervision of great teachers. I decided to come back to Germany for my Master Thesis.
Then I went to Denmark, again great environment with such cool place as we went in winters. I saw few great snowfalls during my work in University for nights.
In short I would summarize that those student who want to earn Master degree together with an International exposure of studying and working in different countries must go for this Master Programme. I will recommend this M.Sc in Information Technology.
After doing my Masters from University of Applied Science in 2009, I came back to my country Pakistan. Currently I am working as Lecturer (since 2010), in Department of Computer Science, Sarhad University Peshawar Pakistan. I am teaching different subjects in the field of Data Communication, Computer Networks and Network Management.
Good Opportunity comes once in life….and this is that opportunity!!!!

My name is Stefan Schwalowsky and I'm from Germany.
During my Diploma studies at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences in Lemgo I noticed the need for English in daily business. So for me, the main reason for applying to the international Master of Science program was to improve my language and intercultural skills. I started the Master program in 2007 at the Högskolan Halmstad in Sweden. At the beginning I received many new impressions by meeting new people and having lectures in English language. I quickly realized that it was a very good decision to join the program. Working in the courses with people from different countries is a great experience, which broadened my mind.
The level of difficulty of the offered courses varies from sometimes easy to somewhat tough, but if one is to some degree studious passing the exams with good grades is absolutely achievable. Often little projects accompany the lectures. Hence one gets the opportunity to apply the gained knowledge to an actual problem and thereby solidify it.
The Master of Science program really helped me to improve my English skills as well as my intercultural skills. All in all I can state that studying in this program was great fun.
After graduation I joined the research team of the Institute Industrial IT working on a funded research project dealing with localizing WLAN devices.

My name is Uwe Mönks and I'm from Germany.
At the end of my diploma studies in Germany I had to decide how to proceed. Since I wanted something more and something special, and also was encouraged by my professors, I applied to the Master IT programme. Before I started with the programme, I expected to gain more expertise in my field of research and make beautiful experiences in countries outside Germany – and besides of this improve my English language skills.
In the end I have to confess that all my hopes have been fulfilled. It
actually was fun to travel through Europe, meet interesting people from
all over the world and start something similar with them. The Swedes and
Danes I met were all so kind and helpful which made it a lot easier to
live in their countries as a stranger.
At the moment I am working in an industrial project for one of the cash dispenser world leaders – and at least for this, it was all worth it!

My name is Mark Schäfermann and I'm from Germany.
I first gathered experience abroad when I was an intern for one semester in China during my diploma studies. I liked this experience very much. That’s why I was very happy to hear about the joint IT master programme of these four universities, which consisted of at least two semesters abroad. But studying abroad was not the only part that I was interested in. I was also looking forward to some of the offered courses, which met my personal interests very well.
When the first semester started it was mostly as I expected it to be. I learned a lot about different cultures and the academic part was also quite interesting. This continued to be true for all of the remaining semesters.
So, when I look back at the point when I decided to continue on studying instead of searching for a job, I don’t regret it for a bit.
At the moment I work as a research assistant at the Institute Industrial IT in Lemgo with communication systems as a focus.

My name is Ahmad Ali Tabassam and I am from Pakistan.
Apart from German education system, I did not know very well about the Joint International Programme; Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Information Technology. One day I was setting in an internet café in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and I short listed the German universities from Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) which were offering the Master of Science (M.Sc.) programs in English. The Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences Germany was one of them. I prepared all the documents and mailed to different universities. I was surprised when I received an admission letter from Halmstad University Sweden. Later on I came to know that all of my documents which I send to Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of applied sciences, had been forwarded to Halmsatd University Sweden, because first semester was going to be started in Sweden and I had to get the Swedish visa first.
After getting the Swedish visa, I landed at Jönkoping Airport Sweden and went to Halmstad for the first semester. The journey from Jönkoping to Halmstad was wonderful; new country, different culture and different weather, massive difference between day and night timing. But everything had given me a new joy and a new experience. The Swedish education system was quite different for me. Each academic semester is divided into two periods. It was just my eighth week in Sweden, when I got an email from international office that I should apply for German visa. Initially I was mystified that again I had to apply for it, but it was not as difficult as I thought. After couple of weeks I got my German visa and started second semester at Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences in Lemgo. During this semester I had unforgettable experience. The things which were in my mind came to true; the education at German universities of applied sciences is more practical and industrial oriented. The third semester, at Aalborg University Denmark, introduced me a Danish education system, where the semester had one project and the oral exam for the subjects. My wish was rewarded when I completed my final thesis and became a graduate of Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences Lemgo, Germany in Dec 2007.
The key feature of the Joint International Programme (M.Sc.) is its wide variety of cultural and broad educational expertise, which had given me a broad theoretical and as well as practical exposure. Apart from the other courses, I appreciate the courses; methods and scientific writing at Halmstad, software technologies at Aalborg and management skills & business administration at Ostwestfalen-Lippe, they had improved my communication & presentation skills. I also appreciate the industrial research environment at Institute Industrial IT, department of electrical engineering and computer science Ostwestfalen-Lippe and many unforgettable events; industrial visits, trips to different countries and graduate dinner etc. I am certain that the experiences I gained through this program will continue to enhance my academic and professional skills. It is my recommendation if someone is really interested in M.Sc. in information technology along with different cultural experiences, he should go for it, and I hope he will have a lot of fun.
At present I am a research assistant at Institute Industrial IT, Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, Lemgo, Germany. Currently I'm working on security issues in industrial wireless networks. My fields of interest are IT Security and Software Defined Radios (SDR).
Ahmad Ali Tabassam, 2008-04-10
My name is Kaleem Ahmad and I am from Pakistan.
Currently I am working as a research assistant in inIT (Institute Industrial IT) at Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, Lemgo, Germany. The area of my research is wireless communication for industrial applications.
After getting admission in MIT program I discussed with some Pakistani students in other programs of Halmstad University Sweden and they talked about many problems which I could face during this program. Those opinions raised many fears in my mind and I planned to change the program after arriving in Sweden. When I reached in Sweden, as was my plan, I tried to convert my admission from MIT to other M.Sc. program of Halmstad University. But it was not that much easy as I perceived and I was refused. So, I was forced to continue this program. But after finishing two semesters my mind was totally changed and I often thanked God that my request to change the program was rejected. Now I am one of the biggest advocates of MIT program.
There were two big reservations about this program in my mind and both were non academic (obviously if some one don’t like the academic structure especially courses offered, then there is no reason to choose this program). First, I was afraid of visa problems which might force me to stop my program at some stage. Second, I was afraid that it will be to expensive and uncomfortable to move in 3-4 countries and it would never let me get settled and focus on my studies. But both of these fears were proved wrong after some time (although there were some difficulties in getting a visa every time but these gave me a new kind of learning) and never posed serious threats to my studies. Rather than being expensive, it gave me some earning opportunities. I learnt how I can get settled at any new place in short time without affecting my primary jobs. Additionally this program gave me an opportunity to have some experience of three European countries before taking any decision to get settle down in one of these.
I don’t comment on the academic structure of the program because one can find these details in the curriculum of the program at program website and it is exactly the same what it looks like. So if some one likes the courses offered in this program then this is a perfect program for him/her. All courses are well structured and practical/exercises are included wherever are required.

My name is Ajay Bhardwaj and I am from India.
This program gives me a broad international experience. The universities involved in this program have a very broad expertise in their fields and provide the full flexibility and a lot of different options to master yourselves in particular fields of interest. I very appreciate the Professors in Germany, where the courses are the perfect mixture of theory, practice and industrials visits. Apart from the technical courses I appreciated the course in MBA through which I improved my communication and presentation skills.
Aside from the education this program teaches me a different working and living style.
I'm certain that the skills I've attained through this program will continue to profit me throughout my academic and professional career.
At present I am starting a job as a development Engineer at Atena Engineering GmbH in Munich.

My name is Jahanzaib Imtiaz and I am from Pakistan.
Current Job: Currently I am working as Research Assistant in inIT (institute Industrial IT) at FH LUH in Lemgo/Germany. My main research interests are about communication protocols as part of Industrial Ethernet.
Comments: My experience with this MIT program was excellent. This was the most adventurous, knowledgeable and fruitful period of my life. It is surely my recommendation to those who are looking for a higher degree that not only contributes into their carrier but also into their personalities. One will learn cultures, patience, flexibility and as a most important skill, one will learn how to be adoptive to the changing environment and manage one’s self and interestingly, to become more expressive.
Course organization is exceptional; it includes the best courses from each partner university which makes it very comprehensive and unique at the same time.
For me this master course makes my dream true about travelling, meeting many peoples and learning the knowledge.

My name is Rui Li and I am from China.
Two years international study is like a long journey with amazing experience, fruitful outcomes and unforgettable memory. Being far away from motherland, I kept a bit fear, nervousness, worry… in mind at the very beginning. However, IT-Master program relieves me from such uncomfortable feeling with program coordinators’ keen assistance, instant support and patient guidance. For example, visa issue for Non-Europeans is always appropriately cared by inter-national office in three countries. Three companies (in Germany) even offer scholarships to excellent students with an aim to motivate their study, thus students’ financial concerns are more or less released and are able to concentrate on their study much better. I could never fail to find a person (coordinators, professors) who can answer questions regarding living, future concerns and so forth.
On the other hand, two years study also likes a short journey or even it is too short! By getting to know various local cultures, people and customs, I seem to have insufficient time to enjoy this process, which is full of curiousness, mystery and respect of different ways of thinking. All these have widened my horizons and enlarged my scope of knowledge and of course these will be the forever fortune in life.
The first job: People always emphasize that the first job is perhaps the most important job in one’s life, since it sets the tone of his/her whole life career. I feel lucky to find the most wanted job in my mind -Research Assistant. After graduating from FH Lippe und Hoexter in Lemgo/Germany, I immediately received the job offer to be a scientific assistant, carrying out further research on my own interests. Not only this job provides me a chance to get into deeper with my master thesis topic, but renders me an opportunity to reach higher academic standard as well.
All in all, IT-Master program gives me the chance to obtain latest knowledge, offers me the environment to experience different things and paves a promising way of my bright future.

My name is Fabian Taubitz and I am from Germany.
When I first heard about the "Master Course in Information Technology" I had mixed feelings. On the one hand I really liked the idea of studying in different countries. But the fact that this course is held completely in English worried me a lot. I thought my "school English" would not be sufficient. But that was not true. Most of my fellow students had about the same skills. So in the course of time we improved our English together automatically.
The education abroad was challenging, but the professors were always available for meetings and discussions besides the lessons. I really enjoyed the various subjects and practical trainings. It was possible to get insight into a wide area of information technology.
From my point of view, studying abroad is an experience every student should make at least once. And this program offers the unique possibility to study not only in Germany but in two additional countries. Therefore, a lot of students all over the world are attracted by this course. For example, I still have good contacts to fellow students from India, Pakistan, China, Columbia and Mexico.
I recommend this course to everyone who wants to broaden ones mind and combine education and adventure.

Work
Place: Space Upper Atmosphere Research Organization
(SUPARCO), Pakistan
Designation: Assistant Manager (Instrumentation Division)
Why MIT? I joined this program because it develops special interest options for international students, because each of the involved institutions contributes important subjects of their specific areas of specialization and provide educational breadth and depth in the study of Information Technology. Furthermore I got experience of studying and working in three different European Countries. I have studied in SWEDEN, GERMANY and DENMARK during this time.
My Experience of MIT: I am writing this part in ISTANBUL. I am here for 3 hrs as my transit stay. I left GERMANY 3 hrs ago after completing my MSc in Information Technology. To tell u about the program, this Masters program is something that I never imagined. It’s been organized in three different countries. SWEDEN, GERMANY, DENMARK. On Aug 18 2004 I left Pakistan (home country) to join this program. I went to Halmstad, SWEDEN. On first sight it seems a very quite place, I felt like returning back to home immediately, HALMSTAD is a small town with population of 80,000. Hogskolan in Halmstad is the university where I studied my first semester of MIT program. I studied courses like ALGORITHM DATA STRUCTURE, PARALLEL COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE etc. I had a great time studying ALGORITHM and DATA STRUCTURE using JAVA taught by Ms. Veronica Gaspes, a lady with probably has the best understanding of JAVA. This was the first time i started programming in JAVA. I learned a lot and today i have lots of Java implementations under my name. I would like to thank Ms. Veronica. I decided that if I’ll think of doing a Thesis work in Halmstad then it has to be under her supervision. I still contact her on emails if I face some problems in my implementations and the best thing is that she always replies with her suggestions for which I am very thankful to her.
I came to Lemgo, GERMANY in March 2005 for my second semester. The German semester is the Backbone of MIT. Lemgo it a small town with a population of 40000. Fachhochschule Lippe and Hoexter is the university where I spent my second semester. I loved the courses offered in this semster. I joined this program to carry on my research in the area of WIRELESS NETWORK. I studied WIRELESS NETWORK which is being taught by Prof Witte. I liked his teaching style right from the first day. He has also supervised my thesis work, I consider myself lucky to have worked under his supervision. Another major courses offered in this semester is WIRELESS COMMUNICATION taught by Prof Uwe Meier, I left the course at the end because I was oriented more on NETWORK PATH of WIRLESS Technology while WIRELESS communication cover the PHYSICAL PATH. To tell you about Prof. Uwe Meier. I have never seen a teacher like him during my academics. He gives his full attention on each student which is something very important for a good teacher. He asks questions again and again till the concept is completely clear in students mind. For e.g. I still remember the time when our class were having some problem with dBm conversion. Prof Meier didn’t left us with that, He asked dBm conversion regularly throughout the semester and explained it again and again. To define in one line Mr. Meier is a very nice human being with lots of feelings for each student of his. He loves his students and feels for each student that is something unusual I have noticed and I loved that sight of his. Another very important course offered was Communication for Distributed System taught by Prof. Witte and Prof. Juergen Jasperneite. Prof Jasperneite has got big industrial exposure and tought us in a practical manner. The security part of Wireless Networks was taught by Prof Stefan Heiss. He is a man with a great exposure and experience in the area of Network security. Prof Ernst Beckmann senior most professor, taught us INTELLIGENT sensor. I found it a very interesting subject and revised all my electronic concepts in this course and apply them for practical application of sensor. I worked in Mr. Beckman lab on small inclination sensor project. He is an extremely nice human being, if he find someone willing to learn he provide all his support. He gave me chance to work on an inclination sensor setup in his lab during the semester. After Germany, We went to Denmark, this semester was something unusual I must say, we had to do most of the work on our own, it is more project oriented semester, any how I enjoyed and learned from this semester. I got a chance to do my thesis work with Mr. Witte and I availed it. I came to GERMANY and did my thesis work for Faiveley Transport ITALY as my Project Partner. Again it was Mr. Witte who found this topic for me and this was the first time we worked with Faiveley Transport. It was an extremely good experience. I met people from company, share my ideas got their vision. There was a situation where i was overloaded with the requirements of company but Mr. Witte helped me to get the desired implementation. As i mentioned in my Thesis report Mr. Witte can be defined as a person who always has solution to problem and good ones as well. Beside that he is a very nice human being, a very good friend. I want to mention one thing here. During my second semester, we had lab work in Communication for Distributed System. He used to teach in two groups. The first session used to start at 8am in the morning and the next one at 5pm in evening. I realized through this laboratory work about how much he is devoted to his profession. He used to deliver the same energy in evening, used to work continuously for more than 8hours. This thing touched me deeply and I got so much impressed with this quality of his that i used to take the labs twice a day. I decided by the end of second semester that I will do my thesis under Mr. Witte supervision and I am lucky enough to have got one under his supervision. The thesis work finished and I gave my thesis defense on 30 August 2006. Now I am MSC in IT and working as Assistant Manager in Space Upper Atmosphere Research Organization of Pakistan. I am very thankful to all my teachers for their support and guidance.
Beside all this academics another body which plays an important role is the international office. The international office takes care of Visas and Accommodation and other miscellaneous requirements of student. It is usual for students from Asia to get the visa stamped on their passport for each semester and that is where our batch especially the Asian students faced problem for e.g. delay in visa. All the three international offices staff helped us in overcoming these problem but I especially would like to mention two names Ms. Kerstin Rosemann and Mr. Thomas Luettenberg. Ms. Rosemann was one lady who was always in touch with us throughout these two years. She helped us with her best. Beside all this visa affairs, these two fellows are good friend of mine. I will never forget the time i spent in GERMANY. We had maximum number of parties in GERMANY, and we had a big celebration like BOLLYWOOD NITE was one of them. Both this fellows played important role in making our stay in GERMANY more enjoyable. There was a monthly party from the international office in Germany, beside that they took us to different amusement trips not only local but also international trips and did their job more than perfection. The best thing is that they had good understanding with each student.
To end up, I look up at MIT as the best Masters Degree offered. It gives students room to select their area of specialization after providing them with best technical education. It provide student with exposure to three different markets and provide them with a forum where they can share their local learning practices and technologies.
AVAIL IT, IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO DO MIT

My name is Sugun Pradeep Karanam and I am from India.
I am presently working with Phoenix Contact Electronics, Germany as Firmware Developer.
This international programme with 3 different universities in 3 different countries gave us a broad international exposure with regard to the education and working styles.
As promised the courses helped me in enhancing my technical skills and multi-cultural working style. Though moving to different places every 6 months was hard it was a satisfactory experience.
Sugun Pradeep Karanam, 2006-10-03
My name is Gustavo Attias and I am from Venezuela.
After graduating from the Joint International MSc programme in IT, I stayed in Denmark searching for jobs. After few months, I started working in HiQ WISE in Copenhagen, Denmark. I am working as a Consultant Telecom System Developer.
The decision of coursing the Joint International MSc programme in IT was simple, considering: the length, the area of study and the dynamism of it.
To study in three different countries gives this MSc an infinite value. Specially, since it is done in time intervals that allow the students to get to know the cultures, systems, ways of life, etc. with enough depth. Also, the three universities complement each other from the technical point of view, offering the student their expertise in different subjects, giving as a result, a complete and solid education.
At the end of this experience, I can conclude that taking part in this programme made me grow strongly both personally and technically.
If you are a person who wants to deepen your technical knowledge, and start being part of a multicultural world, I agree that you should take part in this programme.

My name is Arif Uygar Leventyüz and I am from Turkey.
Seeking for a promising and interesting IT programme as well as opportunity to travel? That is exactly what you are looking for. Other than getting acquainted with international students from all over the world like any other, this programme offers you to see different countries as part of education. Sounds tempting ? ;-) Totally. If you think that you are a traveller inborn then be part of it without losing time and start this dream from Sweden.
Hmmm? What am I doing now? Apart from ones doing Ph.D., like most of my other classmates I am also working for an international company, Alcatel Teletas as support engineer in R&D department in Istanbul. Thanks to all of our educaters for their effort and interest.
Arif Uygar Leventyüz, 2006-07-12
My name is Umut Demirkan and I am from Turkey.
Master of IT at three universities in three different countries did not only present education in hot topics in IT but also an exposure of different cultures and aspects in life. The courses offered a wide range of different topics and the thesis work let me specialize in a field I was interested in. In addition, travelling all over North Europe was an experience never to be forgotten.
The years have passed as quick as a wink and now I am working as an engineer with Nortel Networks R&D in Istanbul working on VoIP protocols, software and hardware products. Furthermore, I am searching for a PhD to put more on my Masters Thesis as well as the work.
I can say that any adventurer IT geek should try this experience with M.I.T. for the qualifications gained and the lands conquered.
Umut Demirkan, 2006-06-08
My name is Derk Wesemann and I'm from Germany.
After completing my Diploma degree at the University of Applied Sciences in Lemgo, I realized that the skills obtained with this degree are sufficient for working in the industry, but not for applying for an academic position. Having the choice between continuing with a study programme at a German University and the offered international Master's Course, I preferred the latter.
The Master Course gave me the possibility to experience different countries, universities and teaching methods, improve my language skills and extend the knowledge in my preferred technical topics. Additionally, a lot of training for what is called 'soft skills' was provided, with an emphasis on flexibility.
I enjoyed both the time in the courses as well as the time with my student colleagues, which formed a small, yet very special and unique group.
Derk Wesemann, 2006-04-26
My name is Frédéric Pichon and I am from France.
I am currently doing a Ph.D. in a company called Thales Research and Technology in Paris. My academic supervisor and laboratory belong to the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC), France. The topic of my thesis is: "Knowledge representation in the presence of imperfect information: application to information fusion". I started a couple of months after graduation.
I did not intend to do a Ph.D. when starting the Master program but the different professors met during the Master were good sales representatives for research... and, what's best, I believe they were selling research without knowing it! They are so passionate that you will surely enjoy most courses, and that is important because the master covers many areas of IT in which you may not know much at the beginning.
At the end of the program, you should have a broad view of IT, and also have had the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in a specific topic - and it can be almost anything! - through the master thesis. The professors are open and their domains of expertise cover most hot topics in IT. So between the 3 universities you will certainly find a subject that really interests you for the thesis. And you've got time to decide, even once you've started the program!
I did not even mention many other invaluable aspects ... the fact that you will interact with people coming from all over the world, etc.
Enjoy, and good luck!

My name is Luis Alfredo Zambrano Hernández and I am from Venezuela.
After
finishing my undergraduate studies as an international student in
Sweden, I knew I wanted to continue further my education in the engineering
field. Pursuing a Master of Science in the networking field would
be the best option, and the Joint International MSc Programme in
IT proved to be the best choice in this sense.
The rich and broad international experience lived in three different countries/universities just adds a special interest to a broad and flexible programme that covers key subjects in the field of Information Technology. Sweden, Germany and Denmark as host countries, and people from all around. A great experience not just academically but also at a personal level.
After successfully finishing my thesis at Nokia Networks HQ in Denmark, I went travelling around Europe (once again) to finally come back home to Venezuela some months ago. Regardless of the delicate political situation in my country, I could manage to find a job in less than a month and with many options to choose from. I work now as project engineer at the Data Network-Planning and Development Division for Telefonica Mobiles, a Spanish mobile operator that is leader in the telecommunications market in Venezuela.
I will never regret such an experience. The IT Master was a door to get to know the world. It has prepared me well and now it is up to me to use all I received during those two years. And the memories and experiences will be in my heart for years to come.
The world is a big place, yet so small under my feet...

I'm Hariprasad Sivarajan (can call me Hari) and I'm from India.
I found my first job in Chicago, USA for an IT Consulting firm as a Programmer Analyst.
After completing my B.Tech in India, I wanted to explore IT field
more and also I was desperate about
having an International exposure. I was searching for a good master
course which would satisfy my needs. During my search in the Internet
I found this Master IT programme very interesting and had applied
for it. The interesting part is that everything that had been mentioned
in the IT master website(during my first search) previously, was
delivered by all the three universities without fail.
Yes, I am really grateful to all the professors and the students
of Master IT 2003 for helping me to
realize my hidden skills. I am completely satisfied with this
course which not only stopped me to realize my educational skills,
besides it also helped me to get a job very soon after completing
my course. I recommend this programme who has great desire to walk
on the way towards success.

My name is Kasper Sottrup-Jensen and I'm from Denmark.
I was offered a trainee position during working on my Master thesis at Novo Nordisk Engineering (NNE) which is a consulting engineering company in the biotech and pharmaceutical area.
For my part it was a great relief to be able to attend the exam knowing that when it was done a job was waiting for me. Before I finished the IT Master I made a choice to apply only to companies who had a trainee program or similar. I did this because even though I thought - and still think - that the Master IT is a great program I didn’t consider my self ready to face a “real” engineering position. I thought that a trainee program would prepare me better to face the challenges of a full blown engineering position. Writing this makes me think if this is true.
Looking back I think that the Master IT program prepared me just fine for the real world. Maybe it was just me who thought that working in a company would be all that different from working together in groups at a university. Of course there are many differences but I haven’t met any I couldn’t handle with the help of my education and colleagues. So even though I have had my current position less than a year I have started looking for a “real” engineering position.
As a last remark I would like to say that if I had to single out the most positive thing about the IT Master program it is that we had to study and live in three different countries. This has been invaluable to me and I have only got positive feedback about this when I had been attending job interviews.

My name is Henning Trsek and I'm from Germany.
It seems to me, that it is already a long time ago, when I started the international Master of Science programme in information technology and I must confess that it was one of the most fascinating and challenging time of my whole life.
Before starting the MSc, I got my diploma degree in electrical engineering
from the UAS Lippe und Hoexter in the field of communication technology.
Then I decided to continue my studies with the international MSc
programme and went to the first location, Halmstad University in
Sweden.
Besides consolidating my knowledge in different areas of the information
technology, I was also able to work on and improve my personality
by means of the adaption to always changing locations and the intercultural
working environment. Throughout the programme we did a lot of mini
projects within international project groups. Thereby always having
in mind, that one has to respect different point of views and behaviors
within the group evoked by the individual cultural backgrounds. Furthermore
we were capable of exchanging a lot of experience, since all of us
had slightly different backgrounds as far as their fields of specialization.
In addition to this I made some new, but in the meantime very good
friends.
The whole programme is well structured and takes place at three universities with very good facilities as far as the laboratory equipment, the computer rooms, etc. All the professors are highly motivated and really committed to the students. Finally I would like to mention that I am convinced I made the right decision to continue my education with this international MSc programme instead of choosing a local one narrowed to a single German university.
Currently, I am a postgraduate student at the UAS Lippe und Hoexter working on my PhD in the area of industrial wireless networks with the main focus on quality of service and fast roaming. I am employed as a research associate at the recently founded network technology laboratory. Besides this, I am working on industrial projects to gain some more experience and to finance my PhD studies.

My name is Ivan Dominguez Jaimes and I'm from Mexico.
After graduation from the Joint International MSc programme in IT, I joined Imperial College London where I am currently working on my PhD in Electrical Engineering with the Communications & Signal Processing Research Group.
After receiving several offers to study for a MSc degree I finally chose the Joint International MSc IT programme. Both, the length and the curriculum of the programme, were second to none in offering a chance to build solid broad IT foundations, through course work; whilst at the same time presenting the chance to deepen my knowledge in one of my preferred subjects which is wireless communications. I truly recommend this programme to all of those who are seeking for a well-rounded graduate qualification that has both, depth and breadth.
