General Information

To be rewarded the

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Information Technology*
Joint Programme of
Halmstad University, Halmstad, Sweden
Wroclaw University of Technology, Wroclaw, Poland
Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, Lemgo, Germany,
Aalborg University Esbjerg, Esbjerg, Denmark

a student is subject to the following regulations:

1. Courses When a course is successfully passed, the student is awarded the number of credit points stated in the course handbook.
2. Award In order to be awarded the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Information Technology* a student needs to obtain 120 credit points. The certificate will be signed by the president of the university where the master thesis is carried out.
3. Examination Procedures Each programme member maintains its local examination procedures in order to monitor the student' performance while the students are enrolled at that member's location. That applies for all assessments, written or oral examinations and project work. The institution which is in charge of the students in the fourth semester of the programme also has to:
  • consider the student performance on the master thesis
  • award the Master of Science Degree to those students who have satisfactorily completed the programme.
4. Assessment Regulations For any course and the Master thesis, the student's performance will be specified with the local grading system of each institution. To obtain the necessary 120 credit points which are required for the award each course unit must be successfully passed. A student has the opportunity to re-attempt a failed course shortly after the first examination. A student who has not passed a course after this opportunity of a second attempt can repeat the examination the following academic year, if the course is then still included in the
programme. In such a case the student may have to accept that the course plan may have been changed. A deferral of a unit is possible
where a student has been unable to complete assessments because of recognised extenuating circumstances or for other valid reasons, or whose performance on a particular unit is considered to have been adversely affected due to factors judged to be valid by the local programme management. In a deferral the student is given the opportunity of taking the assessments concerned as if for the first time and the mark then attained stands.
